The Media center needed maximum flexibility and versatility, achieved through the use of comprehensive file data distribution and user access to computers to ensure that video content and files are made available rapidly, wherever they needed.
The system needed to be scalable, compatible with the BFE studio control system used throughout the facility, In addition to being able to instantly switch the connections between many computers and user terminals transmitting DVI-D digital signals.
ORF Austria needed to replace old analogue sysems with new KVM matrix switches providing controlled access throughout the studios to film and audio editing PCs, TV program scheduling and graphics playback servers and general management computers.
To provide most efficient use of the stages, studios and equipment, Sonic Magic has adopted the use of the IHSE Draco Tera KVM switch. This provides a central switch to interconnect any of the systems to any workstation anywhere in the building.
A studio refurbishment required the installation of a KVM matrix switch solution to manage all input and output devices in the broadcasting production workflow; including computers, video servers, video and audio editing devices and control systems.
